Founded on August 8th, 1839 at Miami University, Beta Theta Pi is one of the nation’s oldest social fraternities. Tracing our roots back to the first and oldest secret society on campus, the brothers of the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi place strong emphasis on the cultivation of well-rounded fraternity men. We believe in maintaining excellence in all aspects of fraternity, campus, and social life. We direct all strength and effort toward the achievement of these goals. Epsilon Epsilon draws men from several southern states outside Georgia including South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana. Academically, Beta rarely drops out of the top four and has never fallen out of the top six. Also, Beta brothers are involved in prestigious organizations on campus including Student Judiciary, SGA, Order of Omega, Relay for Life, UGA Hero, IFC, and other prominent groups. Beta’s annual philanthropy event Choral Cup raised $7000 for the American Cancer Society in 2011 and is sure to be a success again in 2012. Beta along with Alpha Chi Omega, also raised $41,000 dollars for Relay For Life in 2011, the most of any greek organization. A Beta prides itself on an active social calendar that includes our annual Dragon’s Bacchanalia Formal in Savannah (2010, Nashville in 2011), Miracle on Milledge Semi-Formal, Ski Lodge Party, Braves/Hawks Date Nights, and socials with numerous sororities. Our social calendar culminates in our weeklong Beta Lei celebration in the spring.

This strong and growing brotherhood has won the Francis H. Sisson Award for chapter excellence the last six years in a row, for a total of 13. Further, Epsilon Epsilon has won the John Riley Knox Award five times, and this year for the fourth time in a row (1999, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010). The Knox award is the highest award a chapter of Beta can receive. Excellence and tradition runs rich through our history. At Beta, we pride ourselves on this tradition of excellence and invite you to come by and see this for yourselves.
